Shaun Smyth
Shaun believes everyone deserves a place to call home — not just four walls, but safety, community, family, and the kind of security, financial and emotional, that lets people build a life.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Shaun's family immigrated to Calgary in the 1970s. His father was a carpenter who had a hand in constructing many of the buildings in Calgary's downtown core. Shaun still remembers how significant it was for his family — after years of renting — to finally purchase their first home and put down roots in this city. Years later, the sale of that family home helped make it possible for Shaun and his own family to buy their first home, and the carpentry skills his father passed down inspired Shaun to renovate two homes of his own.
Before real estate, Shaun spent years in Toronto, Vancouver, and Hamilton building a career as a professional actor, writer, and producer — appearing in over 100 television episodes, including Suits, Supernatural, Fringe, Arrow, Heartland, Billy the Kid, and Anna Pigeon, and performing on stages across the country and internationally, including the Stratford Festival. He is a two-time recipient of the Calgary Theatre Critics Society's Best Actor award for Drama, and he wrote a new musical that opened at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa in September 2026.
Shaun returned to Calgary three years ago with his wife and three children, drawn back by a deep-rooted belief in this city — that it's a place brimming with opportunity and one of the best places in the country to raise kids. That same love for Calgary, paired with a passion for helping people reach their goals, is what brought him into real estate.

Shaun is a member of the Global Luxury Home Institute and holds his Seniors Real Estate Specialist, Accredited Buyer's Representative, and Condominium Specialist certifications.
Fun fact: Shaun is a championship bagpiper who has competed at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland three times. At 20, he led a Calgary-based pipe band to a championship win in Scotland.
